This time, the Defending Champions Brothers didn't lose their cool or the game. Peter Ventura had 18 points and 5 rebounds, three other players scored more than 7 points, and Brother win the series of 64-61 Tuesday night in the El Rancho, Hayward since last season brawl. “Coming in, you knew it was a big game," Peter Ventura said. The Brothers instead blew by the Hennessy with a fourth-quarter rally, and then held on behind huge plays from Peter Ventura and Zandro in their best outing since being paired together since they had been playing in FilCom. “Zandro said.”I had a lot of fun tonight. This is probably the most fun I had in a basketball game." Peter Ventura added on his comment, led the Brothers, and Zandro added 17 points, twelve in the fourth quarter. Jayson had 10 points and 4 rebounds, and Manuel Robles led a spirited bench effort with 8 points. “I like the tenacity that we played with," Brothers coach Manuel said. Jong Eloper scored 17 points and Ping had 14 for the Hennessy Boys, who led by as many as 4 and were still ahead by 3 going to the fourth quarter before dropping their second straight. "We had this game and we just gave it away tonight," Jong Eloper said. "We had it in our hands and we couldn't maintain the lead. Brothers outscored Hennessy 17-8 in the final 8 minutes. The Brothers shot 70 percent in a fast-paced first quarter, and still trailed 37-32, and the Hennessy boys shot 67 percent. The Hennessy quickly restored the 4 points lead in the third, and again back came the Brothers. The Hennessy Boys then scored 6 straight to take a 61-64 cushion into the final period. The BROTHERS will face the DC BULLETS in the CHAMPIONSHIP.

Tuesday night, 06-07-2011, Hayward CA, game one was seemed like it was never end with 3 overtimes. Reigning MVP Peter Ventura carried his team with an eye of the tiger face as he proved to everyone that his team is still the Defending Champion. It was the battle between the BROTHERS against their rivalry HENNESY BOYS. Defending champions BROTHERS struggle with the HENNESY on the first half by trailing 8 points 39-31. But, on the 3rd overtime with lest than 2 minutes remaining on the clock, BROTHERS took control of the game by  by 5 points 84-79.. BROTHERS, was led by Noel with 27 points and 2 rebounds. Noel was helped by his teammate Peter Ventura with 19 points with 8 rebounds. Even though Manny “BIG BIRD” didn’t get much point, he was getting all the rebounds down below. Manny scored with his low high of 8 points, but got 9 rebounds, and he was out rebounding Owne. Zandro chipped in with 16 points and Chirs with 12 points, all points was made by 3 pointers, as they look forward again next Tuesday for Game 2. Jong Elopre from HENNESY BOYS, with 22 points and 7 rebounds, as he tries to carry his team to the championship, but he was exhausted after the 2nd overtime and didn’t have any gas left. Ping was making all his shots as well with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Danny had 9 points and 2 rebounds and was fouled out in lost.

 

The 2nd game of the night almost went on overtime. It was an epic battle from DC BULLETS and the TRIBE. The game was close throughout the game with each team taking leads. Alex Martin from the DC BULLETS scored 19 points with 12 rebounds in the58-55 vs. the TRIBE. Eddie Piring and Chris Del Rosario had 11 points apiece with their great defense. EJ Cordero did not play due to a family event. Coach Jay Cabayan from DC BULLETS was nervous when TRIBE tied the game in the 4th quarter less than 4 minutes remaining in the clock. But DC BULLETS was hungrier for the W. Even though TRIBE lost, they will wait next week to redeem themselves when they play DC BULLETS again. Drew carried TRIBE with 23 points and 7 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough. Marco and Minh were the two man wrecking crew all night especially in the first half with Marco making all his shots with 12 points and getting his own rebound, and Minh also chipped in with 11 points and 9 rebounds in a lost. When DC BULLETS took control as the TRIBE was fouling out, the DC BULLETS was hitting their free throws to secure the victory. Alex Martin is one of best rebounding center in Filcom. He knows how to use his body to get a foul from his opponent. He’s quick and his team player.
