A word from Justin Cardona Filcom’s Athletic Director and Head Trainer:

I would like to thank the parents of all the athletes that will participate in Filcom’s Athletics Academy.  We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to not only help the young athlete express and achieve their athletic potential but to groom the young athlete into healthy, intelligent, passionate, responsible and compassionate individuals. As we all know athletics is a wonderful canvas to learn life skills and express oneself creatively physically and intellectually.  Everything we do from developing training protocols and physical training to scrimmaging or playing in a game, the athletes long term health is considered with care.  We understand that an athletes physical development, emotional maturity, and athletic skill grows over time.  Attention to detail such as flexibility or range of motion and biomechanics is essential to proper athletic development and a lifetime of healthy physical activity.  Our program teaches and assist in implementing  body maintenance protocols: proper nutrition, stretching, and rest or recovery periods.  We truly believe that we can help a young athlete achieve their athletic potential and academic aspirations at the same time.  It is important to us to develop young individuals with a hunger to learn and with a world view that only through proper education and a supportive environment can stimulate.  Thank you for your support and the opportunity to reshape our community through our athletic program.

ALL ATHLETES MUST FILL OUT A WAIVER FORM AND PAY $10 TO TRYOUT TO PAY FOR PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS AND VENUE.  EACH ATHLETE WILL GO HOME WITH A PERFORMANCE REPORT AFTER TRYOUTS.

Tryouts will include the following:

·        Flexibility test

·        Vertical test

·        Speed and agility test

·        Shooting and defensive test

·        Dribbling and passing test

·        Scrimmage

 

***Those that make the team will have an athletic program design to improve all of these skills.  The athletic program will coincide with the 20011 Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Season.  For more information about the program please obtain the Registration form and the Filcom Mind and Motion Athletic Academy Booklet.

  • PREWORKOUT MEAL
  • HYDRATE
  •  BOTTLE WATER OR GATORAGE
